My name is Rosalie Lavender and I am a Taranaki-based, Māori Celebrant based in New Plymouth. I pride myself on my energy, enthusiasm for people and fresh approach that makes for engaging, fun ceremonies.

I love working with couples and families to develop ceremonies that are both personal and captivating. I pride myself on blurring the line between being a professional and being your friend. It is important to me that your guests see a strong and genuine dynamic between us, and assume that we have known each other for years.

A specialist in all things pertaining to a marriage ceremony, I also have a special interest in milestone events such as commitment ceremonies, renewals of vows and naming ceremonies. I am available to conduct funerals on request, please speak with your Funeral Director if you would like to make an enquiry regarding my services.

Rose Haskell married us in New Plymouth, Aotearoa New Zealand in August 2023. She was fantastic to work with right from the start due to her friendly and professional manner. She quickly established great rapport and demonstrated empathy and understanding which impressed my Thai wife no end whose English is still developing. She was so good at helping us build upon our ideas until we were totally happy to proceed. She regularly kept in touch to ensure I was on track getting our paperwork and legalities sorted out on time. I appreciated her pushing me because I’m the world’s biggest procrastinator! On the day she was a true blessing – energetic, bright, affable and confident. She effortlessly adapted to both of us being late, and provided last minute music because I wasn’t organized enough. We all loved her friendly style which still respected the sanctity of marriage yet was touched with tasteful humour that broke the ice and warmed the room. Rose easily accommodated our ethnic and spiritual propensities – NZ Maori and Thai – which was a huge bonus. As for her price, may I say it is extremely fair! We highly recommend Rose Haskell – Celebrant. 🙂😍😘

We were lucky enough to have Rose as our celebrant for our big day. Not only did Rose deliver an amazing ceremony that was perfect for my husband and I, she went above and beyond for us. We had a level 2 COVID wedding in which Rose supported us (mainly me!!). Rose is passionate, kind and down to earth and I couldn’t be happier with her service. 10/10 would recommend.

Rose is the most down to earth, sweet and thoughtful celebrant. We absolutely recommend her to all couples! There were many reasons why we picked Rose to be our celebrant but the main one was because of the instant connection we had. Rose made us feel so comfortable from day one. Being based in Australia proved hard to organise a wedding from so far away, having that connection when we hadn’t met in person was even more reassuring that we had picked the right celebrant. I don’t think there are many celebrants out there that write every ceremony from scratch, the personal touch really pays off. Our guests thought that we knew Rose personally because they too felt the connection on our wedding day. Rose listened to how we wanted our ceremony to be, and she pulled it off perfectly. At one of the wedding shows, we overheard someone tell someone else, they had to go and talk to “that Celebrant Rose Haskell”, which made us want to go and talk to her too. Throughout our journey Rose was bubbly, kind and made us feel relaxed. 18 months later, she’s basically our 4th child/part of our family and EXACTLY who she was when we first met. She wrote and delivered our ceremony with a wonderful, relaxed vibe. She worked along side the other vendors and MC’d our reception with professionalism and was highly organised. Possibly the most organised and pedantic bride Rose has officiated for to date. Booked 18 months out and about 15 changes to the ceremony �� Rose took it all in her stride. And made the ceremony incredibly personal and full of character. No easy feat when the word crazy is used 13 times. Rose owned the ceremony and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Helps that Rose has a great sense of humor and dare I say it.. crazy.
